Jo Howell is an Australian who graduated from RMIT university with a BA Sci ( Photography ) in 2001 then set out to see the world and accumulate a wealth of visual, emotional and life defining experiences which has enabled her to grow into the highly creative photographer she is today.

Jo has taught in Japan, worked as a photographer on the ski fields of Whistler, spent several months as a manager of a fishing lodge on the French River in Ontario, combined tour leading and photography throughout Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and China, gained her dive masters certificate in Borneo, spent nine months working as the tour leader and photographic mentor for a photographic safari company which ran tours across Africa from Cape Town to Nairobi, then for two years operated her own wedding portrait studio in scenic Knysna, South Africa.

Jo’s images have been selected for the front covers of travel magazines, she loves wildlife and the beauty of nature, she has a great eye for composition and colour and her fabulous ( and sometimes outrageous ) personality results in her being readily accepted by all those with whom she works.

Having chosen scenic Knysna as the ideal place to set down roots Jo has applied her diversity of life and creative experiences to bring a fresh, vibrant and refreshingly natural look to her portrait, wedding and commercial photography which has been getting rave reviews from all who see her work.

Jo brings hard work, professional integrity and technical skill presented with a friendly demeanour to all assignments to ensure the end results always exceed the clients expectations.
